Die Baureihe Mark 7 bis Mark 9 hat mehrfach sehr erfolgreich an nationalen und internationalen Wettbewerben teilgenommen. Unter den Fahrern waren so erfolgreiche Namen wie Stirling Moss und Ian Appleyard. Hierüber berichten mehrere Autoren – leider nicht immer übereinstimmend. Lord Montagu of Beaulieu müsste sich eigentlich richtig erinnert haben, denn sein Aufzeichnungen stammen aus dem Jahre 1961 (siehe Literatur):
