Harewood 2001/ 40th Anniversery
of XKE and Mark 10 (Part 2)
Organizer: Jaguar Enthusiasts Club
At the annual JEC event "Northern Day" in spite of the clubs anniversery
advertising only 15 Big Saloons were entering the park in front of the "House" of Lord Harewood north of Leeds (GB). May be this was the reason that the organizing
club did not make big fuss on the JAGUAR Marks Ten's 40th. However, there happened
nothing special like one should expect als appropriate for such anniversery.
Disappointing, yes it was, particularly if one had seen the Donington XKE-jubilee
before. Concours of the few entered BIG JAGS, that was all.
Fortunately the Big Saloon -owners were rewarded by the lively interest of the
public, which pressed their noses to the Big Cats windows. So it finally was
a worthwile event for the Big Saloon-fans. And just the dreamlike environment
of the royal "Harewood House" park and caste was worth seeing and
rewarding for making a long journey.

The Hughes broom-stick hood fixture seemed to be as unique as his Mark 10 with self screwed 12-cylinder conversion (see Jaguar enthusiast magazine). |
