Editor's holiday-find: The "Crete-Jag" Near Rethimnon (Crete, Greece) this JAGUAR that died long time ago, could be admired in a backyard. While other cars are looking very ugly when coming from the factory, this JAG was an icon even in its rusty red outfit.

Editors Find: The Beer Mat-JAG The favourite beer mat of our editor is the one from Pfohe company, showing a red S-Type. It is told, that this find was reason for him to order his car.

 Zoltan Nadaskay "LADY JAG"
A leaflet of the gallery "Galerie Auto & Kunst, Wiernsheim" was added to the Dezember '90 issue of the German JAG MAG (Jaguar club magazine) containing
the following information:

"If men is continuing the development of techniques in an intelligent manner, the automobile cannot be destroyer of the environment, but will stay what it was created for – a means of transport, symbol of human creativity and of the feeling of freedom". With these word the hungarian painter Zoltan Nadaskay is protecting his beautiful pictures against the critics of automobile aesthetics. Then he is melting technical and female myth to a male dream in his picture "Lady Jag": on top of the machine – which is a real predator – he is decorating a woman.

As a pattern for the Nadaskays picture served a picture of Hans-Peter Gaukler (Stuttgart), that caused a real whirlwind when published in the German Jaguar-club magazine "Jag Mag" during a photo competition, when touching the small world of not working Lucas electrics and not full speed resistant 6 cylinders. In the readers forum there finally was a battle on subjects like – taste, standard, rainbow press, moral, deadly seriousness, humourlessness – until at the end the upholders of moral standards founded their own club for protection of the Jaguars bonnet against damage from suspender belts.

"GDR Jaguar" Report in JAG MAG, issue 54, 1988, on the presumable only one registered Jaguar in the German Demokratic Republic (GDR).
In year 1974 registered for the (at that time) GDR-actor Manfred Krug: Jaguar 420, now owned by Karl-Heinz Bensing from East-Berlin, GDR
1988 published in JAG MAG: Cars of our registered members In this issue we are showing a jaguar from the GDR: This probably should be the only one Jaguar in the GDR, a 420er, built 1968. The car is owned by Karl-Heinz Bensing from Berlin. When buying his Jaguar about 3 years ago, she was in a very bad condition: defect crankshift bearings, rust holes in doors and sills etc. Naturally the obtaining of spares was a big problem in the GDR, but the talent of improvization sometimes does not accept any borders, and so the car today is in a very good condition. In 1974 the car the first time was registered inside GDR for the famous actor Manfred Krug. As in the GDR there was no technical information available for that Jaguar, you may find only wrong data in the registration card.
