Dr. Gerrit Balken racing his Jaguar Mk 9
The model range Mark 7 to Mark 9 had competed several times very successful at national and international Rallyes. Among the drivers there were famous names like Stirling Moss and Ian Appleyard. Several authors were reporting on this, but unfortunately not corresponding in every detail. Lord Montagu of Beaulieu should have been the one to remember right, as his records were dated in 1961, close to the time when it all happened (see literature):
